Man, this discussion went on such a tangent, I don't even know where we are anymore. >_>
But, anyway, Blissey's 'ability' to take physical hits is irrelevant, because there are so few instances where that ever applies, Salamence Brick Break being one of them. Wailord evo here can take physical hits better, sure, but don't forget just how hard things hit in today's standard. Even with base 260 HP, base 50 defense is still like paper to beasts like Tyranitar and Mence, who will probably easily drop you down below 50% with their powerful STABed onslaughts, while laughing off whatever damage Surf would deal to them.
Point is, I don't see what niche this thing would occupy.

For one, I thought you hated smogon? Second, I said meant to ATTACK a Blissey with it >_> That doesn't mean I hate Obi. He's a genius. That's where Leftovers, Protect, and Rest come in. I'm sure new evo could survive a few turns against Tyranitar. And if entry hazards are down, mostly Toxic Spikes, new evo could just stall for a bit and Ttar would lose most of its HP through Toxic. An unboosted Crunch doesn't OHKO Blissey. With higher defense AND HP, it would probably only 3ko new evo. |
