We're talking about the same world of people who named a country HOENN. And you're saying they wouldn't name a country Chrona out of common sense?
And the Earthbound reference was me making a point about the mindset under which games are created.

Hoenn makes more sense than naming a country Chrona. Come on now.

That's what you think. Game Freak thinks otherwise.

Which is why Game Freak is smart enough to NOT have named a region Chrona yet.

How does Hoenn make any level of sense? Hoenn's not even a word, and neither is Chrona. Nor is Kanto, or Johto, or Sinnoh.
Game Freak can name the countries whatever the heck they want. The country names aren't real words, so their significance is moot in the end. It's just nice to be able to say we went a little above the norm by throwing in a reference to the game's setting.

Or Orre, or Almia, or Fiore.

Neither is Indonesia, or Australia.
How does Hoenn make less sense than freakin' Indonesia?

You're really pathetic enough to relate Pokemon to real countries.
Tsk, tsk.

Countries in the real world aren't just named for the lols. If you trace back languages, I guarantee you you can find roots for just about any country in the world.

Actually, the full name is the United States of America. The America part came from Amerigo Vespucci, who did... something important. I forget because I'm bad at history. But the United States part obviously comes from our country being united states.

Vespucci maped both North and Soulth America. His name was on the map and a german guy mass pruduced it.
German for Amerigo = America. Presto-Name-o

You still prove my point that real-world countries, in most cases, have origins for their names.
