It would be unique for the region to mean something. For all we know Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, AND Sinnoh might all mean something. We just don't know it!

....explain how Kanto means anything involving R/B/Y.

It does sound a bit like Sinnoh/Silph Co though I suppose.

....explain how Kanto means anything involving R/B/Y. That's his point exactly. It might mean something too far off the beaten path for us mundane folk to comprehend.

Then, for all you know, I wanted Silcoh to mean something. It's way too far off the beaten path for you individuals to comprehend.
If the meaning of it is so ridiculously far off that only the creators understand it, why should we make a name that's very obvious of a meaning, such as Chrona or whatever.

Chrona is obvious? Since when? It SOUNDS like coronae, and those two are pretty far off.

Because at least the other names sounded unique and not like a rehash of two already-used locale names in the Pokemon series.
And symbolism sells. Look at Dan Brown's books.

Lol funny.
But really, what in the name of Pokemon sounds like Chrona, hm?

Chrona clearly refers to something related to time/light.
Silcoh isn't the greatest, but you have yet to come up with a suggestion that's any better.

Chrona is closest to Chroma, meaning color.
SOME people don't easily get that reference.

Anyone who is intelligent and knows slightly advanced vocabulary should catch that reference.
