Like when you fly, you can actually control your sprite as it moves towards the map. Then maybe you can have random encounters with some of the flying pokemon. Take those cloud pokmeon for example.

Nice idea, but the point of flying is to avoid random encounters. Perhaps this could be used for one specific flight, such as to a city that can only be reached by flying to it from a specific spot.
