Most of the pokemon created so far are 3 stage evolutionary lines that are all equivalent to the power of fully evolved starters and the new evolutions in D/P. We need more 2-stage and single stage pokemon. Also, there are way too many pokemon with base stats 550+. Those kind of base stats are reserved for the weaker legendary trio(like Zappy/Articuno/Moltres or the legendary dogs) and pseudo-legendaries like Garchomp and Dragonite. We really should only have at max 2 psuedo-legendary lines. With around 50 pokemon, we already have 2 pseudo-legendaries with base stats 580-600, yet people keep suggesting pokemon with huge base stats. Each Pokemon has their own role, and we have to accept that a lot of pokemon out there exist to suck, and many won't see the light of being OU/BL pokemon, it's just a fact. So I suggest we keep the base stats limit threshold to 550, limit the amount of 3-stage evolutionary lines and in general tone our pokemon down.
