Well...
1.Go to any Pokecenter.
2. Go downstairs and talk to the Hippy-looking lady.
3.Say you want to go on Wi-Fi.
4. If this is your first time connecting she should give you a Pal Pad and you should get you freind code before you connect.
5. If you don't care what's online and just want that code leave immediatly.
6. After disconnecting you may check your code on you Pal Pad, located in the Key Items box.
7.Correct me if I'm wrong about anything.
I'll post my freid code momentarially.

When I try to look up my friend code, it says that I have to log on to Nintendo WFC. You're supposed to do that from the main menu, but I don't know what to do when I want to log in.

1.DO YOU HAVE A WIRELESS ROUTER IN YOUR HOME/WHER YOU ARE NOW???
If yes: Then from the menu: 1.Select Nintendo WFC settings.
2.Then the BLUE button.
3.If it is a Wi-Fi USB connecter select the long button on the bottom. If it is not, select any of the three top buttons.
4.Select "Serch for acces point"
5. After that follow the onsceen instructions.
6. When you finish go back to the game and log on to Wi-Fi using the Global Trading Center.
7.Ask me if your confused about anything.

I searched, and one said the access point's securtiy settings are not supported by the Nintendo DS. The other needs a WEP key.

O.K... Do you have any devises IN YOUR VISUAL RANGE that are wireless?
If you do that one is probably the WEP one, which should have #'s printed on it one of those is the WEP key.

Ok, I've found another that will work without a WEP code. Now I just need to find a place with Wi-fi

If you don't have a wireless router in your home, than you can't go on wi-fi. The NDS does not support public wi-fi hotspots. That means that you can't play pokemon online at a McDonalds or Starbucks. You'll get much better feedback if you go to the appropriate help website. www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/index.jsp
