That's because he sprites from pictures, I do believe.
At least I think so. Is that Electric/Dragon also your drawing, or just sprited?

It's called a Pixel-Over. You shrink the image then sprite over top of it. Yes, well, you do have some talent. You are quite good at poses, but your shading needs serious work.

Nothing wrong with that. If a sprite looks good, I'll only criticize if it was taken from somewhere else. Otherwise it looks bad.
Make good original sprites, basically.

Yes, the Arcanine was my first sprite and it was a pixel over. The Aggron is an example of what my full scratches look like.
So I decided that it would be best to start with the three starting pokemon, unless they've already been sprited.

They are near completion( of the rough draft that is), I simply need an eye color for the lion. You can read some of the descriptions in the dex to sprite or you can give your version of the starters.

Ah, well if you're already done, then I'll move on. Your a much better spriter than I so it would probably be a wasted effort to try to top your sprites. Well, here's a quick and dirty attempt at spriting Wrectle, the simplest pokemon you guys have in the dex. I think I'm going to have a hard time without reference art. I'm not really an artist. Dex1: Building foundations disturb nesting Wrectle, so they use their prehensile chains to grasp at overhangs and fling themselves at any man-made construction in nearby. Dex2: Cities overcrowded with tall buildings attract Wrectle swarms. Many cities now use walls painted with natural scenery to avoid this problem.

It says it was moved or deleted. And Wrectle and Wrectan were my creations. Snifff sniff.

TV: that's about as good as we're going to get for Wrectle. Just try and shade it up a bit and make it look just a TAD more...what's the word...I'm not sure. More natural I guess. It looks just a little bit off at this point.

Made the outline a cleaner spherical shape. Not much I can do other than that. Unless you guys want a different pose with the chain, I'm considering that sprite finished. I've finished a sketch for Wrectan, so as soon as I gain access to a scanner I'll start spriting it.
Also, I request that this pokemon's name be re-evaluated. For some reason, I find the name Rectal to off-putting.
