Only if you want to be the original trainer. That determines whether the game recognizes the pokemon as 100% yours. |

Not really. You get boosted XP when it isn't yours. You can always come back here and have it edited by me if you want.

It may not obey you if you don't have a certain gym badge (but I assume you've already got them all).
But it does give you advantage of lotery (if thats still around anymore, I can't remember).
