I think the Dark gym leader should be involved within the story, since the story revolves around it, along with Aura. The gym leader could be involved differently in the Dark game and the Aura game.
OR, they could both have the same purpose in the story, except one is Dark in the Dark game and the other is Aura in the Aura game.
Just a thought.

Actually, no, it deals with the story. Just being in the Silcoh region should just be "should this gym leader be both Dark and Aura depending on versions?"
I was asking if the confirmed Dark gym leader should deal with the story at all.

Since there's already an Aura gym, why not have it in Onyx version the Dark gym leader tries to stop you from defeating the Dark legendary (you defeat the Aura legendary first) with a completely different team. *The reason they are doing this is because they were driven insane by the Dark legendary. And after you beat them, the sense returns*. And in Quartz (I think thats the official name now) the Aura gym leader tries to protect the Aura legendary (you defeat the Dark legendary for the same reason as before.

Meh, it's better than mine. I didn't see that there was an Aura gym, though. There's a flying-type Gym with Austraven as the signature Pokemon.

Giovanni is a villain, but that doesn't mean the Dark gym leader can't be.
Giovanni was a pointless villain anyway. He deserved to just stay as a Leader.

If they are a villan, you can discover it when you battle the dark legendary. And the same for the Aura gym leader in Quartz version. See above if confused.

It would only be fair to have a Dark gym leader in Onyx supporting the Dark legendary and an Aura gym leader in Quartz supporting the Aura legendary.
