After actually looking on the smogon website where all the sprites are, I've seen that most of these people aren't creative AT ALL. Unlike shoto here, even though he did post there, who acutally has some really good sprites, all they do is get two existing pokemon and combine them into one sprite. I spent a LONG time just looking at the sprites and saying what to pokemon were combined to get that until I got bored. For that part of the website, ninplayer is right: smogon does suck @$$!

Splicing and spriting are totally different skills. You can have ABSOLUTELY NO SPRITE ARTIST SKILLS and splice Pokemon together. I splice Pokemon together, I just don't put them up. I can't sprite at all, but splicing is elementary: swap color palettes, and copy+paste different parts.
Yeah, but I don't do legendary splices. Too obvious and not enough originality.

I'm not saying they're not good, its just they are uncreative for the most part. If they had an imagination like shoto, then there work would be BEAST like his is.
